Team Bath ace Parsons shines at British Cross Challenge

THERE were just a smattering of west runners who made the long trip to Liverpool for the latest British Cross Challenge event held at Sefton Park.

Team Bath’s Alex Parsons caught the eye with his 13th place in the under 17 men’s race, just 18 seconds away from making the podium.

Westbury Harriers’ Rosie Hamilton-James (pictured above) battled to 36th in a strong under 17 women’s field but Bristol & West AC didn’t have a single young athlete in action.

The club’s best result was Will Christofi’s 56th in the senior men’s race but he is clearly somewhere short of his best form at present.

Westbury’s Floren Scrafton (pictured right) showed up well to finish 38th in the senior women’s race with B&W’s Kate Maltby 55th.

Further afield prodigious Wiltshire talent Kiya Dee extended her unbeaten start to the British Cross Challenge as she made it three wins out of three having already won the under 15 girls’ races at Cardiff and Milton Keynes.
