MIKE Down will take great satisfaction and pride in this week in being handed the Lifetime Services to Coaching Award for 2018 by the British Milers’ Club.
The annual BMC awards were announced this week and Down, who has been a coach Bristol & West AC and before that Bristol AC, for longer than most of us can remember was a popular and worthy winner.
Down has also been heavily involved in organising the BMC PB Classic meeting at Millfield in May and before that at meetings in Bristol.
Laura Muir and Jake Wightman were named the female and Male athletes of the year respectively.
