Bells of glory ring out for Eilidh as she smashes marathon PB in Spain

TEAM Bath AC runner Eilidh Bell uncorked a superb run in the San Sebastian marathon in northern Spain this morning.

Bell (pictured left) smashed her personal best by over five minutes with a sparkling time of 2hrs 44mins 58secs which gave her second place overall in the women’s race which was won by Africa Chaltu Negesse Chawo in 2:35.23.

“I’m ecstatic,” said Bell as she celebrated her first sub 2hrs 50mins time. Her previous best was 2:50.13 set in the Manchester marathon earlier this year.

The time puts her top of the South West Rankings and 21st in the UK.
