Scott serves up a tasty festive victory in the Plain Crazy 12

SCOTT Campbell ran off his turkey dinner and a few more calories too with a handsome win in the Plain Crazy 12 miles multi terrain race held from Warminster and covering parts of Salisbury Plain.

The Westbury Harrier (pictured left) competed the course in a time of 1hr 18mins 45secs to leave him 2mins 20secs clear of the field,

Paul Deaton of Southville Running Club showed up well in sixth (1:25.23), which earned him second in the over 40s category, while Bitton Road Runners’ David Walters was 10th (1:26.33).

Lucy Richens completed a Westbury double a she finished top woman (1:31.34) in 16th overall.

Meanwhile at Weston Tri Counties cross country champion Ben Robinson (pictured below right) won the Hangover 10k in a time of 32mins 47secs.

Craig Williams of Newport Harriers was runner-up (33:08) with Clevedon AC’s Luke Murray third and top veteran (33:57).

Top woman in 17th overall was Clevedon’s Hannah Woodman (40:17) from Elizabeth Smith of Westbury (40:52).

Westbury’s David George made the trip down to Somerset for the Chard Flyer 10k on New year’s Day and finished 26th and second veteran over 50 by just eight seconds clocking 44mins 20secs.

Overall victory went to Philip Bridge of Wells City Harriers in 35:40.
