ONGRATULATIONS to the North Somerset AC trio of Jack Wilkinson, Sam Gentry and Matthew Howard, who won the under 15 boys’ title at the Midland Counties Road Relay Championships at Sutton Park, Birmingham, on Saturday.
Sam (13:05) gave the team a solid start finishing fourth on stage one just 16 seconds behind the leaders. That set up Matthew for a storming performance on stage two as he carved through the field to bring North Somerset into the lead.
Matthew’s time of 12mins 57secs was also the third fastest of the day.

On the third and final stage Jack clocked 13:24 to bring the club home in 39mins 26secs, 13 seconds ahead of Charnwood AC with the Westbury Harriers trio Greg Hayward (13:39), Abdi Hasan (12:57) and Johan Hobbs (14:45) third.
Abdi’s time gave him a share of the third fastest time of the day with Matthew adding up to a terrific day for both clubs.
