GREAT Bristol half marathon race director Andy Graffin has proclaimed the new-look event as a big success.
The Great Run organisation took over the running of the event this year from Bristol City Council and for the majority of the runners the transition was a seamless experience – and the free T-shirts looked a lot better.
“It’s been an exceptional day at the Great Bristol Half marathon today, we’d like to say a big well done to everyone that took part,” said Graffin.
“We have worked closely with our partners Bristol City Council to deliver the event so would like to take this opportunity to thank them, the hundreds of local volunteers who make the experience so memorable for runners and the people of Bristol, who came out in their thousands to cheer them on.”
Entries are now open for the 2017 Great Bristol 10K which will take place on 7 May and next year’s half marathon which will be staged on 17 September.
The first 500 people to enter this event will receive a 20 per cent discount on their entry. For more information or to enter please visit: greatrun.org.
