MATT Battensby romped to victory in the White Horse Gallop 8 miles multi terrain race, which was race four in the Wiltshire Off-Road Race League.
Making light work of the terrain, regarded as one of the toughest off-road events in the county, Battensby (pictured left) from Bristol & West AC conquered the course in 49mins 28secs.
Runner-up was veteran Heath Bampton of Royal Wootton Basset Hounds and Stuart Temple of Swindon’s Slinn Allstars running club finished third.
In the wmen’srace, Hannah Claydon of Swindon Harriers ran out victorious ahead of Mary Gaston from Bristol & West AC and Jilly Raw from Pewsey Vale Running Club.
