‘I would have liked to have run faster’, says Jenny after Great South Run

JennyJaggerCardiffHalf2015JENNY Spink was only moderately pleased with her performance at the Great South Run 10 miles road race in Portsmouth on Sunday.

The Bristol & West AC runner finished 10th overall, fifth Brit and first veteran over 35 in a time 56mins 30secs, which was outside her personal best of 56:18 set when winning the Wiltshire 10 in February.

“I felt I could have gone faster but there was a strong headwind between 6-8 miles,” said Spink.

“Also I look at the girls who finished ahead of me and 10th was a good position. Also my shoe lace came undone at four miles and that was a bit of a distraction.

“But overall it was nice to be part of such an elite women’s race.”

Next up from Spink will be the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k road race on Sunday November 6th  when she will be representing the Midland Counties.
