Teamwork: Ellie Wallace and coach Julian Emery

THREE West runners have now been confirmed in the England team for the Armagh International Road Race next month.

Bristol & West ACs Kurt Taylor, Ellie Wallace of North Somerset AC and Taunton AC’s Elle Twentyman have been called up for the prestigious event on February 9th after it was cancelled for the past two years due to Covid.

“Congratulations to all the selected athletes and their coaches,” said team manager Tom Craggs.

“It’s great to see the return over the Armagh International Road Race which for many years has been one of Europe’s top races and which will provide the England team a great opportunity to represent England against some top competition.”

Taylor  secured automatic selection as England 5km Champion backed up with a big 5000m PB of 14:02 set in July. He also improved his 10k PB at Telford in December to end a great year on a high.

Wallace also achieved an automatic selection after winning the England 5km title running a selection standard and PB of 15:48.

Also on the England team is Commonwealth Games 5000m runner Calli Thackery of Hallamshire, Jennifer Walsh of Leeds City and Somerset runner Twentyman, who has set a big 5km PB of 15:46

Taylor is joined on the team by Jacob Allen (Highgate), Keiran Clements (Shaftesbury Barnet) and Ian Crowe-Wright (Brighton & Hove).
