Now Taylor turns his focus to the biggest event of the week

Runaway winner: Kurt Taylor

So it is official – Kurt Taylor heads into his wedding on Friday on top form!

His wife-to-be looks like she will be marrying one of the fittest runners in the region after Taylor completed a fantastic of hat-trick of performances in seven days.

The Bristol & West AC won the second race of the Towpath 10k Series, promoted by Great Western Runners, on Friday evening clocking a time of 33mins 05secs.

That left Taylor a massive 3mins 20secs clear of the field with Clevedon M50 veteran Steve Wood second (36:25) and another B&W runner, Niall Moroney third (36:54).

To be honest there was no surprise in that result on the basis of Taylor’s previous two races.

The previous Saturday Taylor smashed his personal best over 5,000m by a whopping 11 seconds with a time of 14mins 02.59secs at the British Milers Club Saucony Grand Prix meeting at Watford.

Then on Tuesday evening at the Westbury 5k Taylor set a course record of 14minsa 26secs to scoop the £150 bonus.

So that adds up to an impressive week with his biggest event yet to come! Everyone at Easy Runner wishes Kurt and his future wife all the best for the future.

Top woman in 29th place overall was Westbury Harriers W40 veteran Sophie Voller (43:02) with Southville Running Club’s Sophie Patten second (46:30) and W50 veteran Kate Hoffen third (49:29).

Leading GWR woman was Laura Hancox in fourth (49:47) while the top man in 16th overall was Laurence Caird (40:26).
