Maxwell celebrates double medal bonus on England debut

HARRY Maxwell ensured that his debut for England was an occasion that he will never forget no matter what the youngster goes on to achieve in his sporting career.

The 16-year-old Team Bath AC runner celebrated his first England vest by finishing third in the inter boys’ race at the British Schools’ Cross Country Championships held at Sefton Park, Liverpool, on Saturday,

In addition to that fantastic individual bronze he also helped England retain their team title finishing second scorer behind overall winner Samuel Plummer with Welsh No 1 Iwan Thomas second, just a second ahead of Maxwell.

“I was definitely very happy with that!” said Maxwell.  “It felt a lot more relaxed than the English School and I didn’t put myself under any pressure. I just went there to give a good performance and enjoy it.
