BATH ultra distance runner Damian Hall turned his attention to the short stuff on Sunday and ran a new personal best of 2hr 40mins 28secs to finish ninth in the Baxter’s Loch Ness Marathon.
The 39-year-old, who works as a freelance journalist and is a member of Corsham Running Club, recently finished 32nd and third British athlete in the prestigious Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB), which is a 170 kilometres race incorporating 10,000 metres of ascent through the Alps and attracts two-and-a-half thousand runners.
“It was a bit frustrating as I was on target for a time in the 2hrs 30mins but I tired towards the end,” said Hall.
“It was an excellent race on a very scenic course and the weather was perfect.”
