OUR local female runners clubs are dominating the Gwent Cross Country League this winter.

With the official results from the third fixture at Parc Bryn Bach finally confirmed it appears that Bristol & West AC and Westbury Harriers are currently enjoying a clean sweep of the podium team places.

B&W’s A team claimed top spot on Sunday to strengthen their grip on the overall standings with a total of 4,410 points, 207 points clear of Westbury Harriers in second.

Remarkably B&W’s B team are now in third place on 4,135pts just ahead of Avon Valley Runners in fourth while their C & D teams are currently eighth and 15th respectively.

The leading Wales club is Swansea Harriers in fifth with Cardiff University Harriers sixth  – and neither surely will be happy with that state of affairs!

Individually Bristol & West’s Natalie Griffiths is in top place with clubmate Catie O’Donogue third. The leading Westbury runner is Katie Hughes in eighth.
