Bobby’s a winner and the Westbury men also make the podium

Winner: Bobby Searle of Bitton Road Runners

THE Westbury Harriers pair of Alex Hamblin and Alex Sampson both made the podium of the Plain Crazy multi terrain event last weekend.

Over a tough 12.5 miles course cross Salisbury Plain Hamblin claimed the runner-up spot in a time of 1hr 22mins 58secs with Sampson just under a minute behind in third (1:23/51). Sampson was also first veteran over 40.

Runner-up: Alex Hamblin

Emphatic winner was Sebastian Symington in a very swift 1:18.01.

Also making the top ten was Steven Robbins of Southville Running Club in sixth (1:26.22) with the Team Bath AC pair of Guy Landon, who was top veteran over 50, and James Donald eighth and ninth respectively.

Leading woman was Bobby Searle of Bitton Road Runners as she completed the course in 1:30.50 for 12th place overall, nearly two minutes clear of her nearest rival, Gill Pearson from Yeovil.
