ALL personal bests count so Timothy Swinn of Southville Running Club should be pleased at making another improvement in the London Marathon yesterday.
Last September Swinn clocked a 6mins 13secs PB of 2:31.47 in Berlin then a week later completed London in 3:13.25.
He returned to the capital to give it his best attention yesterday and was rewarded with a time of 2:31.30, clipping 17 seconds off that Berlin mark to finish just six places behind leading Bristol & West AC runner Jonny Suttle.
B&W’s Andrew Drake was 289th (pictured) and 46th M40 in 2:35.13 with clubmates Aled Anderson and Adam Stokes clocking 2:35.51 and 2:36.05 respectively.
From Emersons Green Running Club Will Pannell clocked 2:35.44 in 304th .
Team Bath’s leading man was Dan Soltys with 2:35.54 while top Westbury Harrier was Chris Palmer, who recorded 2:59.07, just outside his PB of 2:58.14.
Leading Harrier in the women’s race was Lucy Richens (W45, 15th) with a very respectable 2:56.32 in 114th.
On her marathon debut B&W’s Laura Skinner also broke three hours with 2:58.56 in 169th .
