Simply the ‘Personal Best’ Series!

Odd Down Cycle Track, Bath will stage the second of this season’s 5km South West PB Series on July 19.
The season began on June 14 with Dominic James of Western Tempo leading the field home in 14.48.
A further four runners broke the 15-minute mark – Harry Smith (City of Salisbury AC & RC), Thys Moreau (U20M winner and one of only two non-club runners in the top 30), Ben Price (Western Tempo) and Simon Nott (Calne Running Club).
Sixth-placed Adam Baker (Moray Road Runners) clocked 15 minutes exactly, while Alex Stewart, eleventh overall, was the highest-placed BWAC runner.
The field was drawn from far – very far – and wide, with Adam Baker’s Moray Road Runners based 554 miles from Odd Down, in Elgin, Scotland.
Within the top 20 were finishers from Kent clubs Tonbridge and Ashford as well as representatives of Royal Sutton Coldfield AC and Manchester’s Sale Harriers.
Megan Marchant completed an excellent evening for Western Tempo, being first female home (and the only female in the top 63 finishers) in 16.29.
Patrick Searle went fastest for Bitton Road Runners in 17.54, while Gloucester AC’s Arthur Daley, the M70 category’s only entrant, recorded an excellent 23.08.
The 1.5km cycle track is one of only 17 such facilities in England, and offers the perfect opportunity for runners to record a personal best.
The 5km course comprises three laps plus a downhill 625m finish.
The gun goes at 7pm with entry fee £13 for UKA-affiliated runners, £15 for non-affiliated.
