RECENT Great West Run Exeter half marathon winner Lucy MacAlister has revealed she is relying more and more on cross training to get herself back into shape.
The Wellington-based former international (pictured left) is making a comeback after two years away due to injuries and a return to full-time work but believes she has now found the right formula.
“I would like to be more competitive again but for the moment it is just nice to be back on the start line,” said MacAlister, who is a member of Bristol & West AC.
“I had problems with my Achilles and I still have to manage that so cross-training has really helped me and I get out on the bike quite a lot.
“These day I am aiming to keep everything fun and just race myself fit.”
