AS the cross country season draws to an end it is well worth noting that North Somerset has enjoyed arguably its best-ever campaign in the Gwent League.
The roll call of honour is an impressive one from the club that is still relatively new compared to some of its local rivals like Bristol & West AC and Westbury Harriers but it deserves spelling out.
In addition, it is also worth repeating that Ellie Wallace won the opening league fixture at Cardiff to launch the start of her successful winter season.
“It is a good time to remember that when we first joined the league about 10 years ago we would have been happy to have had any team make the top three,” said coach and young athletes team manager Julian Emery.
“All in all, it was not a bad campaign.”
