I WAS interested to see that Tom Carpenter finished runner-up in the Mendip Muddle 20k multi terrain race at the weekend .
The Westbury Harrier was a former top junior and won the Easy Runner/Bristol Post athlete of the month competition almost 13 years ago in November 2002!
He disappeared from the local athletics scene for a while but clearly that talent he showed as a youngster hasn’t deserted him.
