Bradley ‘Stoked’ With 10k Win!

Bradley Stoke’s ever-popular 10k race saw 491 finishers (from a field of 498) on Sunday June 11, with the appropriately-named Bradley Cox bringing the field home in 35.49.0.
Local running clubs were well represented in the top ten positions, with Westbury Harriers’ Alex Hamblin second in 35.52.5 ahead of Warren Sweet of BWAC in 37.04.4 and fifth place going to Bitton Road Runners’ Christian Stiff in 37.33.8.
It was seventh heaven for Severn AC member Alex Hope, who also won the V55 category in 39.26.9, with Sam Duggan representing the Bristol-based Concrete Therapy Club (which meets across Bristol and beyond on Sundays 8-9am – getting a lie-in with the 9.30am start) ninth in 39.35.0 and Richard Noble giving BWAC their second top-ten finisher in 39.49.8.
Robert Sims of North Bristol Running Group (and also a Bradley Stoke resident) was eleventh in 40.06.3.
Hogwood Trotters’ Caroline Nicholas, 15th overall, was her club’s first finisher and also winner of the women’s V40 in 40.25.5.
Emersons Green Running Club and Thornbury RC also had finishers in the top 40.
Easy Runner ambassador (ambazador?) Baz Clark continues his recovery following an operation, crossing the line in 56.03.8, sixteenth in the V50 men’s category.
Once again credit must go to organisers Sole Sisters, a local women-only running club and everyone else helping to make the event a success.
