At Easy Runner, our shoe fitting service is centred around you. We use our decades of experience in running footwear to help you find the right pair. As part of the shoe fitting, we may use pressure platform and/or video analysis to help inform our recommendations.
Historically, runners have been recommended shoes based on the extent of pronation/supination of the foot evident while running. This lead to a simple categorisation of individuals into groups based on a hypothetical level of support required in a running shoe. This can be misleading as it is difficult to determine what is an excessive amount of either pronation or supination for an individual, or in fact if any injuries that might occur are as a result of this movement. What is important to consider is that pronation is a natural, important movement required to cushion impact forces and adjust to uneven surfaces. Thus, a more individualised approach to shoe fitting is essential.
