Berlin PB puts Drake third in Bristol & West rankings

PB form: Andrew Drake raced to a new best in the Berlin marathon

ANDREW Drake sliced 42 seconds off his personal best in the Berlin Marathon on Sunday.

The Bristol & West AC runner clocked 2hrs 36mins 17secs to finish 147th overall, 18th Brit and first West Country runner in the popular race around the German city.

His time beat his previous best of 2:36.59 which he set on his previous attempt two years ago in London.

The mark puts Drake 13th in the South West Rankings and third quickest in the club behind Adam Stokes (PB of 2:26.19 in the Cheshire Elite marathon, Pulford, in April) and Jonny Suttle (PB 2:32.26 also in Pulford).

Stokes’ time places him third in the regional list behind Bideford’s Ronnie Richmond (2:18.19, also Pulford) and Jordan Andrews of Tavistock (2:25.50).
