IT as good to see Bristol & West AC retain their position in Division Two of the British Men’s League at the weekend while Yeovil Olymiads came agonisingly close to joining them next year after just missing promotion from Division Three.
Yeovil won their final match to finish third overall one league point behind Bedford, who will go up with champions Swansea.
Joining Yeovil in Division Three next season will be Division Four champions Newquay & Par after a fantastic season in which they won their opening three matches before slipping to fourth in the finale last weekend.
But there was a sad story from Division Four as Exeter Harriers were not only relegated but failed to field a team for the final match. In the modern era the Harriers were the first west club to regain British League status and for a couple of season blazed a trail reaching as high as Division Two.
