ADAM Wilson admitted he was still ‘buzzing’ after smashing his personal best in the Armagh 5k road race on Thursday night.
The event once again underlined its claim to be one of the best 5ks in the United Kingdom as an amazing 113 runners broke 15 minutes on the super-fast course.
Bristol & West runner Wilson (pictured left) slashed 128 seconds off his best with a time of 15mins 49secs and afterwards described the event as simply ‘awesome’.
Ahead of him clubmate Harry Allen found that 14mins 38secs was only good enough for 61st place though it easily smashed his previous best of 15:34 which dates back to the Aztec West circuit in 2017.
Other B&W runners to make the trip included Alex Crossland, who came 74th in 14:44 and Kurt Taylor (96th, 14:54).
Among the west runners in action North Devon’s Phil Norman finished 13th in 14:02
Steph Twell clocked a course record equalling 8:59 to clinch victory in the Intersports women’s 3k race, while Finnish athlete Topi Raitanen ran a blistering 13:43 to break the Brooks men’s 5k course record.
