BATH sprinter Danny Talbot will be sweating on the meeting of the Great Britain selectors when they meet tomorrow to finalise the team for the World Championships in Beijing.
Talbot failed to dip inside the qualifying standard of 20.50secs for the 200m at the Anniversary Games in London. While he had broken his personal best with 20.30secs in Lucerne UKA’s selection criteria stipulated that he needed to do it twice to be eligible for selection.
On Friday night he clocked 20.56secs into a minus headwind of 1.6m so he will have to rely on the selectors bending their ow rules to name him alongside Zharnel Hughes.
