Why Charlotte is aiming to be out front in the London marathon

KEEP an eye on your TV for the London Marathon this weekend and you are sure to spot Bristol & West AC’s Charlotte Taylor-Green.

Taylor-Green was signed up as a pacemaker for the women’s field in Sunday’s race after clocking a personal best of 75mins 46secs to win the Weston-super-Mare half marathon last month.

“I am pacing the women’s 2hrs 30mins group and been told to reach half-way in 75 minutes with a leeway of 15 seconds either side,” said Taylor-Green.

The pacing job will give Taylor-Green an insight into the final countdown for marathon day and will undoubtedly be useful for when she makes her debut at the distance later this year.

“I am planning to run the Dublin marathon in October and depending o how that goes I may run London next year so being there this weekend could be very useful,” added Taylor-Green.

“It is a great opportunity for me and I am really looking forward to it while also being just a bit nervous as it is a big job and I’ve got to get it right on the day.”
