I AM indebted to Southville Running Club for posting this lovely video-grab photo of their runner Tim Swinn as he claimed his moment of glory in the TCS London Marathon on Sunday.
As the running clock confirms the race was only a few minutes old as Swinn, who started with the masses, found himself – briefly – in front of the elite men.
While those finely-tuned world class stars went on to complete the distance in close to two hours Swinn manfully got the finish in 3hrs 13mins 25secs.
That was well outside his personal best but that should be no surprise as he only set that the previous weekend in the Berlin event, when he clocked a fine 2hrs 31mins 47secs to go 10th in the South West Rankings.
That capped a good purple patch for Swinn as at the end of August he clocked a PB of 15:29 for the South West 5k PB Series at the Odd Down cycling track near Bath.
I should think he deserves a good rest after his recent exploits!
