WESTBURY Harriers’ young female middle distance runners were among the medals at two different championships last weekend.
At Newport in the Welsh Junior Championships Rhiannon Paton (pictured above) won the under 20 women’s 1500m in a time of 4mins 56.35secs.
There was a bronze medal for clubmate Elen Ruck in the under 17s 1500m as she ran a PB of 4:58.84. It was Ruck’s first time inside five minutes for the distance, eclipsing her 2020 best of 5:02.49.
Meanwhile at Nuneaton Westbury’s Laura Chance was rewarded for making the long trip to the Midland Counties Championships with a bronze medal in the under 17 women’s 800m in 2:21.65.
