WESTBURY Harriers came within a ‘whisker’ of winning a medal in the masters race at the Midland Counties Road relay Championships.
After more than an hour of racing the quartet of Tamsin Chick, Alison Rogers, Rebecca Huckett and Becky Lee just missed the bronze medals by 29 seconds.

They briefly held that slot after the opening stage when Chick clocked the 10th fastest time of the day (17mins 34secs) with a strong run to put the Harriers right in the mix.
Rogers slipped to sixth and Huckett maintained that to set up Lee for a rousing finale and while she also ran a fast time, the 14th fastest overall, a podium place just eluded her. Overall, though, a terrific team effort.
The Weston AC quartet of Katie Gormley, K Roberts, Louise Davison and Nia Davies, with the 18th fastest time overall, also impressed to finish seventh.
