WESTBURY Harriers’ in-form Alex Hamblin finished fourth in the Yeovil Easter Bunny 10k road race today.
Hamblin (pictured below) clocked a time of 35mins 02secs in this popular Somerset race which was won by Michael Parrott (Running For Time) in 33:00 from Team Bath’s Peter Grist runner-up (33:10).
Hamblin’s performance came after he posted a personal best in the latest Weston Prom 5 as he clocked 27mins 25secs for third place, shaving 16 seconds off his previous best set in the same race last year.
Also in 2022 Hamblin has notched up PBs over 10k (33:50 in the Speedway race, in January) and in the half marathon (73:48 in the Cambridge race, in March).
Both PBs were significant with Hamblin dipping inside 34 minutes for the first time while his half marathon best carved virtually three minutes off his previous best of 76:38 set three years ago in Bath.
Bristol & West AC’s Tony Roper, who is based in the county, was 15th overall and easily top veteran over 50 in a time of 37:09.
There were 287 finishers.
