BEST west result of the day must surely go to Oliver Fox (pictured) of Wells City harriers.
Fox, who is now a first year medical student at Cambridge University was fifth in the under 20 men’s race which should earn him a place in the GB team for the European Cross Country Championships in the south of France next month.
There was also an impressive victory for Stroud teenager Tom Mortimer in the under 17 men’s race while in the under 17 women’s event the west trio of Yoyo Barnsley (Cornwall AC), Zoe Wassell (Stroud) and Hannah Hobbs (Westuury Harriers) all made the top twenty.
