CLEVEDON AC’s Jack Richardson smashed his personal best to make the top ten at the Stroud half marathon on Sunday.
The Stroud half may not quite be the major race it once was but it is still a well-organised event with a solid club entry so Richardson can take great encouragement from his performance.
He’ll certainly be happy with the time of 75mins 36secs as that carved a whopping 2mins 45secs off his previous PB at the distance at the Boston half marathon in May.
That was only his second half having made his racing debut for the club at the 2020 Bath half, finishing 556th in 90:06.
Having also improved his PB over 5k on the road from 17:33 at the Fast Friday race in Exeter on April 2nd to 16:46 at the South West PB Series 5k at the end of July as well.
Richardson is clearly a talented runner on an upward curve so it will be interesting to watch his progress this winter under the guidance of the Clevedon AC coaching staff.
