BRITISH international Frank Tickner returned to action with a crushing victory in the Frome half marathon.
The Wells City Harrier was racing for the first time since finishing third in the Yeovil Summer 5k race in June and for only the third time this year so his performance of 71:15 was a solid effort.
Tickner finished over two minutes clear of Avon Valley Runners’ George Gurney with St Austell Running Club’s Dan Alsop third (1:17.17).
Simon Cardnell of Southville Running Club finished 20th (1:26.58) with Bristol & West’s Jonathan Bennett 22nd (1:27.22).
In the women’s race Elizabeth Bebbington of Nailsea Running Club was runner-up (1:35.54) behind Laura Holton (1:33.26). Southville RC’s Kay Cole came seventh and first W40 (1:41.18).
