THE 2016 Midland Cross Country Championships will go ahead on Saturday.
Just 48 hours ago it looked as if the event would be cancelled after the trustees of Stafford Common said the land was too water-logged and denied access for the championships.
That left officials from the Midland Counties Athletic Association scrambling to find an alternative venue and they have worked wonders to secure the use of Prestwold Hall in Loughborough for the event.
