WELL done to Westbury Harriers’ 15-year-old Aidan Noble and Fiona Marks of Bristol & West AC for beating not just their rivals in last night’s Blaise Blazer but also the weather after a day of heavy rain.

Noble (23:40)  (pictured left receiving his Easy Runner/Bristol Post athlete of the moth prize) finished four seconds clear of clubmate Alex Hamblin with Alan Uren competing a Westbury clean sweep on their soggy home turf.

In fifth and top veteran over 40 it was good to see North Somerset’s Julian Emery back racing after all his injury problems but leading veteran overall in an excellent fourth overall was M50 Thomas Guest of Southville Running Club.

For Marks it was her second in a week as she also finished top woman in the final race of the Aztec West Fast summer 5k series so she is in a rich vein of form.

Runner-up was Evita Gonzalez of Westbury with Emersons Green Running Club’s Caroline White third.
