Super-strong Phillipa wins awesome Wales challenge

ENGLAND mountain running international Phillipa Williams has just claimed a notable victory in the daunting Ultra X Wales event.

The Bristol & West AC runner survived the 250k challenge incorporating over 9,000m of climbing around Southern Snowdonia completing the course in a time of 30 hours 28mins 49secs.

Winner: Phillipa Williams reigned supreme in the Welsh mountains

That not only earned Williams the female prize but also overall victory in the event as she finished over an hour clear of runner-up Mark Peart (31:44.56) with Lewis Thomas third (34:44.58).

Some of you may recall Williams catching the eye when she finished third in the 2019 Bath half marathon, won by her clubmate Kate Reed and Stroud’s Rachel Felton.

Williams was representing Bristol University that day and ran a PB of 78:10.
