HANNAH Alderson is today reflecting on a superb debut in the TCS London Marathon.
Tackling the 26.2 miles for the first time the Bristol & West AC runner (pictured) crossed the line in 2hrs 35mins 56secs and the added honour of being first woman in the massed start.
“We kept everything low key building up slowly this year but her training has gone well,” said coach Alan Thomas.
“Hannah’s target time was 2:41-45 and her training was at that pace but she broke her half marathon PB of 78:56 on a training run three weeks ago so I knew she was in good shape.
“Her mile splits in London were very even between 5mins 47secs and 5:56.”
While official results have yet to be confirmed it looks very likely that Alderson’s time will put her top of the South West Rankings, displacing her former clubmate Victoria Kenny, who ran 2:41.20 in Seville in February.
