The 17-year-old North Somerset AC athlete from Portishead (pictured in action right) is in Tblisi, to take part in the high jump and is among the medal contenders following the personal best of 1.83m in Spain last month.
“This was the big aim for the season and I am very excited about being in Georgia,” said Chigbo.
The Bristol Grammar School student is unlikely to be over-awed by the event having made her international debut last year at the World Youth Championships in Columbia (finishing eighth) and also the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa, where she won a silver medal.
“Winning a GB senior vest is the ultimate aim but for now I am taking one championship at a time and then we will see how it goes,” said Chigbo.
“But I would definitely like to see how far I can go in the sport.”
