Striding out: Charlotte Taylor-Green (1940) with Rachel Felton on her left shoulder
CHARLOTTE Taylor-Green is toying with the idea of running a marathon so her performance in the Weston Super Half will give her great encouragement.
The Bristol & West AC runner showed good endurance and pace judgement to finish fourth overall of the 1,578 finishers and first woman ahead of Stroud’s Rachel Felton.
“It was perfect weather (and) nice to be back racing for fun and finishing off another big mileage week,” said Taylor-Green.
“Lovely course mix of roads/beach and hills.”
In those circumstances Taylor-Green’s time of 1hr 15mins 46secs was impressive and a personal best by over five minutes, though that time dates back to 2012.
It would have been interesting to have seen what Taylor-Green might have run at the Bath half the previous weekend, where Felton clocked 75:53 for second place behind Kate Reed.
Overall winner on Sunday was Cornwall AC veteran Colin Snook in 72:04 from Taunton’s Andrew Smith (74:33) and Weston AC veteran Kieron Summers (74:44).
