Now Jo is ready to tackle the marathon again as she signs up for London

BRISTOL & West AC life member Jo Pavey is switching back to the marathon.

The five-times Olympian has confirmed she will be lining up for the 2017Virgin London Marathon on April 23rd as she tackles the 26.2 miles distance for the first time since 2011.

That was the year when Pavey, now aged 43, last ran London and clocked h personal best of  2 hours 28 minutes 24 seconds. Later in 2011 she also ran the New York marathon finishing in 2:28.42.

“I wanted to be sure I was injury-free and could crack on with my training before committing,” said Jo.

As well as trying to improve her PB Jo is also hoping to win selection for the World Championships in London later this year.

“I know it’s a tough ask, but it is an exciting challenge to think about the possibility of representing my country over distances from the 1,500m right up to the marathon,” added Jo.
