Now Coales is heading to Ethiopia for Africa’s biggest race

DaveCoalesEthiopiaJET-setting Team Bath AC chairman Dave Coales is back on foreign soil again this weekend – only this time in Africa.

Just three weeks after running in the New York marathon Coales, who works at city-based company Rotork, will line up with around 36,000 other runners on Sunday for the Great Ethiopian Run 10k road race in Addis Ababa.

“I’m running the Great Ethiopian Run to raise money for Vision Aid Overseas, which is a charity very close to my heart,” said Coales.

“My auntie (Margaret Lawrence) is an optometrist from East Grinstead, Sussex and has been to Ethiopia on many occasions over the past 20 years fitting people with glasses who otherwise wouldn’t have any access to any kind of eye care.

“As someone who is particularly short sighted I can only imagine what it would be like not to have access to any eye care.”
