TOM Merson is ready to step up his training after making a successful comeback by winning the Plymouth 10k last weekend.
The Exmouth-based runner, who is a member of Bristol & West AC, ended an eight-month injury nightmare with a runaway success in the event as he clocked a steady 32minutes – three mins 05secs clear of his nearest rival- in shocking conditions.
“It was great to be back racing again and while it would have been nice to have run quicker it was a job well done and that is a big confidence boost,” said Merson.
“Now fingers crossed that the toe is okay and doesn’t flare up so that I can step up the training.”
