MACIEJ Bialogonski raced to the best win of his career for Bristol & West AC as he won the Abingdon marathon yesterday.
The Polish-born runner, who joined B&W in 2010, broke the 2hrs 30mins for the first time with a winning time of 2hrs 26mins 56secs.
Bailogonski’s previous best was 2:31.17 which he recorded in London last year and that in turn smashed his PB of 2:42.42 which he clocked in the capital in 2016 .
That is impressive progress and the time is good enough to put Bialogonski second in the South West Rankings behind clubmate Pete Le Grice, who won the Jersey Marathon at the start of the month in 2:21.01.
In addition he lifts him above such seasoned west country racers as Shaun Antell (2:28.02), Jarlath McKenna (2:30.44) and 2017 Bristol half marathon champion Aaron Richmond (2:35.57).
