KATE Maltby may now be living and working in the Lake District but she is still a member of Bristol & West AC so the blog is happy to report that she continued her recent good form at the weekend in Italy.
Maltby (pictured right) was a member of the four-strong England team selected for the World Mountain Running Nations Cup in Chiavenna with the women facing a tough 22.5k challenge.
“There was lots of technical decent and steep rocky climbing,” said Maltby.
But the move to the Lakes from her previous home near Stroud has clearly paid dividends as Maltby finished fifth female and second scorer to help England to win the team gold medals.
The success comes after Maltby ran a personal best of 33mins 21secs in the Age UK Leeds Abbey Dash 10k at the end of last month, putting her 15th in the UK Rankings and fastest veteran over 35 as well.
It is terrific to see Maltby, who joined Bristol & West in 2006, running so well and no reason why she cannot push on and enjoy further success.
