Kate is getting quicker and quicker

KateReed2GOING by her times Kate Reed is making good progress on her comeback.

Her win in the latest Yeovilton Summer 5 race was her fourth 5k road race of the year ad her quickest to date.

Indeed, the 32-year-old Bristol & West AC runner has progressively got quicker and quicker since launching her comeback after long-term injury with a time of 16mins 54secs to win the Yeovilton race on May 13th.

She dipped to 17:03 to finish second in the Azrec West 5k later that month but returned to Somerset in June to clock 16:43 and then went even quicker with 16:30 last week.

Admittedly it is a far cry from the sort of times she was running at her peak – a sparkling PB of 15:36 in the London Hyde Park 5k eight years ago – but it is great to see her back racing again and if she can stay injury-free then those times are sure to come down even more.
