IT now seems that Jenny Spink did even better than we initially thought at the Cardiff 10k road race last weekend.
The Bristol & West AC international has soared to second in the South West Rankings with her chip time of 34mins 06secs which actually shaved one second off her personal best which she set in the same race last year.
Initially Jenny’s time was listed as 34mins 10secs but that was the gun time. The chip time is more accurate and the confirmation that she ran a PB after all her injury problems this summer has given Jenny a huge boost.
“It certainly gives you confidence that your training is working well and I am really looking forward to the Bristol half marathon now,” said Jenny.
“It is great to be back!”
The time also puts Jenny 12th in the UK Rankings with the leading west runner being Eleanor Davis (who is pictured right with her prize after last week’s race) of Newquay Road Runners, who smashed her PB by 50 seconds at Cardiff with a time of 33mins 56secs.
This time last year the 27-year-old doctor had a PB of 35:09 which he set in the St Levan 10k in Cornwall. She is certainly ne to watch this winter.
