BRISTOL & West AC’s British international Jenny Spink (pictured left) is with the England team in Bermuda this weekend and will be racing either a 10k tomorrow or the half marathon on Sunday.
It will be Spink’s first race of 2017 and she’ll be hoping to continue the fine form she showed at the end of last year when winning the Great Bristol Run and setting a personal best of 33:34 in the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k.
Her appearance in the event continues a rich tradition of local runners who have enjoyed an invite for some winter sunshine in the Caribbean.
Clubmate Amy Chalk was a regular visitor to Barbados, running the marathon, half marathon and 10k distances a various times while ex-Westbury Harrier James Thie (pictured right) was ninth in the Bermuda mile only two years ago and in his heyday made the podium.
