EARLIER this week I mentioned Anthony Glover’s impressive form in the Sodbury Slog as he finished top veteran over 40 for the seventh successive year.
Now in a similar vein take a bow Annabel Granger (pictured left) as the Bristol & West AC runner’s victory in the women’s race was her seventh in the event.
That’s a proud record in its own right but looking at the contemporary records on the Bitton Road Runners site – organisers of this terrific race – Granger has won the race every time she started it.
In 2012 she kick-started five back-to-back wins, took a break in 2017, won again in 2018, missed 2019 before 2020 was cancelled due to Covid then returned victoriously last weekend.
No other woman in the history of the Slog can match that achievement.
