It’s a fab day for Felix as he retains Tri-Counties title

FELIX McGrath successfully retained his Tri-Counties Cross Country Championships senior men’s title at Bath University today.

The Bristol & West AC runner held off a spirited challenge from Somerset’s GB junior international Luke Prior, now competing for Aldershot Farnham & District, to lift the Avon title again.

Champion again: Bristol & West AC’s Felix McGrath

In third overall was Avon Valley Runners’ Michael Towler, who was crowned Wiltshire champion.

In fourth place overall Jack Gumm not only claimed the Avon silver individual medal but also led Team Bath AC to team gold.

Chelsea Creak’s hopes of securing a Bristol & West AC double in the senior women’s race was denied by Team Bath’s Amber Gascoigne.

Golden girl: Floren Scrafton

Many readers will recall that Gascoigne was a superb junior runner with Wells City harriers, good enough to win medals at national level and represent her country.

The pair certainly had a terrific race as they finished well clear of Westbury Harriers’ Floren Scrafton, another super talented runner who is enjoying good form.

With solid support from Catherine Treble (fifth), Katie Hughes (seventh) and Lucy Richens (11th) Scrafton also led Westbury to the team gold medals as they just edged out Team Bath by four points.
