In-form Duncan notches up another big personal best

SUSAN Duncan’s great start to 2022 continued with another sizzling personal best in the Bideford half marathon.

The Weston AC runner finished second woman and first veteran over 40 in a time of 81mins 46secs to carve 1min 50secs off her 2020 best.

Fast mover: Susan Duncan (436) followed up her PB in the Speedway 10k with bests in the Weston Prom 5 and now the Bideford half marathon

The time puts Duncan fifth in the South West Rankings and second veteran behind City of Salisbury’s W45 runner Anne-Marie Bayliss, who clocked a PB of 81:35 in the Wokingham half last month.

Bideford half winner Kate Drew of Taunton AC moved to second in the regional list with her time of 78:13.

For Duncan, who is coached by former GB marathon international runner Wayne Buxton, that is her third significant PB of the year.

She went sub 30 minutes for the first time with 29:57 in the Weston Prom 5 last month having also run 37:42 for the Speedway 10k, which slashed 1min 44secs off her best.
